The past few seasons the Los Angeles Dodgers have had a plethora of talent work their way through the Minor Leagues.
With Corey Seager the latest Dodger to be gracing the Majors, it seems that there is plenty of talent still to come.
The Dodgers’ sixth best prospect Alex Verdugo is currently showing how he has the ability to be next in this long line of prospects.
The nineteen year old has had a great start to the 2016 season with Double-A Tulsa, but most specifically been stellar the last two weeks.
So far this season he his hitting .279 with five homers and 20 RBIs along with a .322 OBP and slugging .432.
But, Verdugo’s success is nothing new. Since being drafted in the second round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the LA Dodgers while playing Sahuaro High School in Tucson.
On August 26, 2016, the young prospect even hit for the cycle while playing with Class-A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga. In 2015 he hit .311 with nine homers and 61 RBIs.
As Verdugo continues to mature one can only imagine that his presence at the plate will become even more dominant and consistent.
UPDATE 5/9/2016: Verdugo hit 3-for-4 with two homers including a Grand Slam; racking up 7 RBIs on Monday night.
