MiLB’s Hottest AAA/AA Teams of The Week – Thru June 2, 2019

We always look at the hottest players of the week, but what about the hottest teams in the minors. Each one of these teams below have won eight of their last 10 games, and most are at the top of their division excerpt for one team that is hoping their recent surge will propel them to the top. Check out below which teams are streaking and what hitters have propel the team to victory.

TRIPLE A

In the International League, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRaiders, New York Yankees affiliate, are 30-21 and three games up in the International North Division. They are 8-2 in their last 10 games, even after dropping just their first game in June on Sunday. After a 9-12 April, they opened up the month of May with seven straight victories, which propelled them to a 19-7 turn around month.

Hottest Batters: (Last 10 Games)

Breyvic Valera – .486 BA (18 for 37), 8 Runs, 3 HR, 11 RBI, 6 BB, 2 SB, 9 game hitting streak, with 6 multi-hit games.

Ryan McBroom – .424 (14 for 33), 15 Runs, 5 HR, 11 RBI, 9 BB, Hit safely in 8 of 9 games, with 4 multi-hit games.

Logan Morrison – .289 (11 for 38), 8 Runs, 5 HR, 12 RBI, 6 game hitting streak.

In the Pacific Coast League, the San Antonio Missions, Milwaukee Brewers affiliate, are 36-22 and in first place in the Pacific Coast League American Southern Division. They lead the their division by 1.5 games and have won 8 of their last 10 games. They started the season with a 15-9 month of April, then followed that up with a 20-12 month of May. After dropping their first game in June, they won on Sunday to start a new winning trend.

Nate Orf – .516 (16 for 31), 7 Runs, RBI, 4 BB, SB, hit safely in 8 of last 10 games, with 5 multi-hit games.

David Freitas – .471 (16 for 34), 4 Runs, 2 HR, 9 RBI, 2 BB, hit safely in 8 of last 10 games, with 6 multi-hit games.

DOUBLE A

In the Eastern League, the Hartford Yard Dogs, Colorado Rockies affiliate, find themselves tied for third place in the Eastern League Eastern Division at 32-23 and the hottest team in the league after winning 8 of their last 10 games. In the month of April they played under .500 ball finishing at 12-14. But May saw the Yard Dogs playing above .500 ball after winning 19 of their 27 games played. So far in June they are 1-1, after dropping just their first game if the month on Sunday.

Colton Welker – .333 (11 for 33), 4 Runs, HR, 8 RBI, 7 BB, and has hit safely in 8 of his last 10 games.

In the Southern League, the Biloxi Shuckers, Milwaukee Brewers affiliate, are tied for first place in the Southern League South Division at 32-24, after winning 8 of their last 10 games. In the month of April they finished 12-13, but a strong month of May saw them finish 19-10, which included a five and six game win streak. They dropped their first game in June, but rebounded with a 9-1 victory on Sunday.

In the Texas League, the Amarillo Sod Poodles, San Diego Padres affiliate, sit tied on top of the Texas League South Division at 28-26, but are the hottest team in the league having won 8 of their last 10 games. In the month of April they finished 10-15, but turned it around in May with a 16-11 record. In June, they continued their winning ways with two straight wins.
