The 2016 Eastern League All-Star game will be played on Wednesday night at Canal Park in Akron, OH between the Eastern and Western Divisions.
The league started in 2004 through 2009, when it was considered the North and South and in the six year time span, the South held a 3-2 advantage with the 2007 Mid-Summer Classic being cancelled due to fog.
In 2010, the league was aligned to East and West Divisions and in six seasons leading up to the 2016 contest, both teams have won three games a piece. The 2015 All Star game finished in a 4-4 tie, but for the first time ever there was a Home Run Derby Shootout to determine who would win the game. The East won on a final Home Run in the 11th round to tie up the series at 3-3.
