The Eastern League All-Star Game was played in front of 8,054 baseball fans in Canal Park in Akron, OH and what they witnessed was an all-out hitting attack from the Eastern Division All-Stars.

Five players from the Eastern Division had at least two or more hits, as the entire team pounded out 20 hits en-route to their lopsided 10-2 victory.

The scoring barrage started early as the East added three runs in the top of the first, highlight by a three-run bomb off the bat of Phillies first base prospect Rhys Hoskins.

After two scoreless frames, the East added two more runs in the fourth on a line drive two-run double from Mets infield prospect Matt Oberste.

The West finally got on the board in the bottom half of the frame, after Orioles second base prospect Garabez Rosa homered on a line drive over the center field wall. Rosa was recently highlighted with our Prospect of the Week award.

But the East responded with as they added two more runs in the top of the fifth on a wild pitch and then an RBI single from Rowdy Telez to take a commanding 7-2 lead.

An RBI double in the eighth and two RBI singles in the ninth capped off the explosive night for the East leading them to victory.

Mets Matt Oberste was awarded with the games MVP award after finishing the night 4 for 5, double, and four RBIs.
